Born in Geneva, Switzerland, I studied etching, lithography and photography at the Rhode Island School of Design, the Villa Schifanoia Graduate School of Fine Arts in Florence, and the Centro Internazionale della Grafica in Venice. I enjoyed having my art studio for 25 years at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Virginia.
Using Rembrandt's method of freehand line drawing, I work directly onto zinc plates through a waxy acid resist which are immersed repeatedly in nitric acid baths, inked, hand wiped and printed by hand on my etching press. A select few of these original prints are painted in full color using layers of watercolor and tiny brushes,
creating media works in the tradition of hand-tinted 19th and 20th C. book illustration.
I specialize in small works measuring less than 3 x 3 inches as well as larger etchings, oil paintings, and drawings in colored pencil.
I am a signature member of the Miniature Artists of America (MMA)
